Should Christians go out and try to “change the world,” or should they forget about all of that and just focus on their heart?

Christ Church is excited to announce the second installment of its “Kuyper Lectures,” featuring Dr. Stephen M. Clark on July 30, 2016. Dr. Clark will bring together the worlds of “cultural transformation” and “pietism” by looking at the thought of Martin Luther, the great reformer of the faith. By focusing on the doctrine of justification by faith alone, as well as Luther’s understanding of vocation, Dr. Clark will help us bridge the gap between heart piety and holy living in the world. Come join us as we learn to put together all of the pieces of our faith.

Dr. Stephen Clark is recently retired as the senior pastor of Old Cutler Presbyterian Church in Miami. A native of Jamaica, he holds diplomas and degrees from London School of Theology, the University of London, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Princeton Theological Seminary, and from Drew University. He and his wife, Olivia, reside in Safety Harbor, Florida.

It is our desire that this event be characterized by rich fellowship and conviviality. There will be plenty of refreshments and opportunities for informal conversation, along with prayer and singing.
